Can someone please tell me what the big deal is about a new IKEA opening? We just had one open up here in West Sacramento last Wednesday and it's a zoo. I've only been to one IKEA, and yeah they have nice stuff, but it's a furniture store, not a rock concert. The very large parking lot has been packed solid almost non-stop since they opened. Traffic on I-80 is backed up for miles as people wait at the off-ramp. I even read in the Sacramento Bee, that people would be driving from Utah and Oregon for the grand opening. What am I missing here? Why is this such a huge event instead of just another big box store?
