First, I screwed up. I thought the Oscars didn't start 'till 8--but still, arriving at 3:30 for a 5pm party seems a bit excessive. Anyway, Clooney wins Best Supporting Actor for Syriana. Like I said, I haven't seen any of the movies this year, so I don't know who to root for. But I did like what he said in his acceptance speech. Hollywood gets a lot of flack for being out of touch with mainstrean America--but that's a good thing. Mainstream American is too ignorant for its own good. Clooney said that same thing with more tact and elegance.
